Shougang Concord Century Holdings Limited ("Shougang Century") has been listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited since April 1992. Shougang Holding (Hong Kong) Limited and its controlled corporations, and NV Bekaert SA ("Bekaert") and Li Ka Shing Foundation Limited are the substantial shareholders of Shougang Century.

The Group is primarily involved in the following activities:

• manufacturing of steel cord
• processing and trading of copper and brass products
• manufacturing of pre-stressed concrete strands and wires

Corporate's Mission

Business Strategy
Shougang Century has cultivated a solid customer base in the Greater China region. With a strong financial position, the strategy of the Group is to, on the one hand, continue to leverage on its comparative advantages to maintain a constant growth for its metallic product business, and on the other hand, take advantage of its established distribution network to further develop the trading business. We will endeavour for further expansion and growth while striking for a balance between risk and efficiency. On the basis of the aforesaid strategy of steadfast growth, Shougang Century will also deploy resources for the development of hi-tech projects relating to metallic products, thereby strengthening the performance of the Group as a whole.

Development Plan
After introduction of Bekaert as our second largest substantial shareholder in 2006 and Li Ka Shing Foundation Limited as another substantial shareholder in 2008, Shougang Century's shareholder base is enlarged and the financial position of the Group is strengthened, and also the progress of the implementation of the Group's strategy in its core business of steel cord manufacturing is expedited.

In addition to the expansion of second phase production capacity of Jiaxing Eastern Steel Cord Co., Ltd., Shougang Century has also planned to construct a steel cord manufacturing plant with annual production capacity of 100,000 tonnes and a technologically advanced metallic product processing centre in Tengzhou City, Shandong. This development project will be implemented by phases, and the whole project is scheduled to complete in 2012. The target of Shougang Century is intended to become an enterprise carrying a level of 200,000 tonnes steel cord production capacity.

Business Outlook

Shougang Century will continue to focus on its core businesses in order to (i) not only maintain itself as one of the main domestic steel cord manufacturers in the mainland, but also develop new overseas market for steel cord products as well; (ii) the market leaders of copper, brass and metal products distribution in Hong Kong and in the Pearl River Delta.

In view of grasping for the opportunity ahead, we will also develop and explore our strength and potential capabilities in other metallic products processing businesses.

In all, we will go on expanding our core businesses and also identify new businesses simultaneously, while manage our businesses in a cautious manner for the objective of creating Shareholder value and return.
